Do I need a campervan to join?+
VanTribes is built for campervans and converted vans — owned, shared or rented. No van yet? Many events offer spare seats in other people's rigs, and some hosts can help arrange a rental for the trip.
How long are the trips?+
Anything from a single day to several weeks. You filter by duration and pick what fits your life right now. There's no minimum commitment beyond the event you choose.
Who runs the events?+
Every Trip has an accountable organizer. A Meetup may have an organizer or be community-led; in that case the publisher is the initial contact and the group agrees on the details together.
How do payments work?+
VanTribes does not process payments in the first beta. Organized Trips may be free, contribution-based or paid, but terms must be clear and no personal payment handles are published. Community-led Meetups are free apart from shared real costs.
What's included in the price?+
It varies per event and is always listed on the event page — typically coordination, activities or coaching, and some shared meals. Fuel and your own vehicle costs are usually separate to keep things flexible.
Is it safe to travel with strangers?+
Small, interest-led groups help, but do not eliminate risk. Public content is reviewed, organized plans require approval, and private member/chat data opens only after acceptance. Use normal travel judgment and report concerns.
Can I host my own event?+
Yes. Publish an organized Trip, coordinate a Meetup, or start a community-led Meetup. A simple Idea stays private until someone takes responsibility for it.
What does it cost to use VanTribes?+
Browsing and joining the community is free. Individual events are priced by their hosts and shown transparently before you join.
