What VanTribes is
VanTribes is a community platform connecting van-life travellers around shared passions. We provide the space to discover, host, and join events — we are not a party to the trips themselves, and we don't organise, supervise, or insure them.
Payments happen in person
VanTribes does not process, hold, or guarantee any payment. Contributions for an event are agreed and paid directly between member and host in person. Refunds and cancellation terms are set by each host and shown on the event page — VanTribes is not responsible for disputes over money exchanged off-platform.
Your responsibilities
You're responsible for your own safety, your vehicle, your travel documents, and your conduct at events. Hosting or joining a trip means using reasonable judgment — VanTribes doesn't vet hosts, guests, routes, or activities beyond basic event review. Read our Safety page before your first meetup.
Community standards
Be honest in your profile and event listings. No harassment, discrimination, or unsafe conduct. We can remove content, suspend, or ban accounts that violate this, and you can report or block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
Age requirement & your account
You must be 16 or older to use VanTribes — you confirm this when you sign up. Your account is personal to you; keep your login secure and tell us if you think someone else has access to it. You can export core account records and request permanent deletion from Settings — see our Privacy Policy for what that covers.
EU/UK right of withdrawal
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online contract. VanTribes itself is free to join and free to use — we don't sell you anything, so there's nothing to withdraw from on our end. Any money you agree to pay a host is a separate arrangement between the two of you, made in person, outside VanTribes — that withdrawal right (if any) is between you and them, governed by whatever terms the host sets out on the event page.
No warranty, limited liability
VanTribes is provided "as is," in active beta. We work hard to keep it reliable but can't guarantee uninterrupted service or that every host/member will behave as expected. To the extent permitted by law, VanTribes isn't liable for losses arising from events, payments, or interactions between members.
